04:25 pm - Another Drink and I'll Move On
I'm moving to Canada to work border control w/ Sar. From now on, only cool people get in to Canada, so if you suck at life, don't even bother trying.
As for other news, I went to six flags with Dan, Pete, and Speer last weekend. That was an...interesting trip. I had a lot of fun with Speer though, and we got to spend some quality time together for the first time in a while, which was really good. But let's just say that was about the only good thing to come from that trip.
My 4th of July was extremely uneventful. I watched the fireworks with my parents and their friends and then sat in my bed staring at the tv for hours.
I got to hang out w/ Speer, Sar, and Marjory the other night which was tons o' fun. We went to see The Notebook and they were out of control crying throughout the entire movie, except speer of course. Katie just bought a lexus SUV, so I'm sure the rest of my summer will be spent driving around birmingham in circles in her new car. Morgan and I went thrift store shopping today, without much success. I think that's about all that's happened. Matt Nathanson on Tuesday, get crunk! Stephanie, you should come down, it'd be great fun.
I'm off to take a nap, or shower, I haven't decided which yet.

02:30 pm - I'm baaaack
I got back from Italy a few weeks ago. The trip was amazing, and I want to go back. I want to live in their countryside away from all of the bullshit and hassle that is the U.S. But no, I am stuck in hundred degree weather in the middle of Alabama. Luckily, the past couple of weekends have been lots of fun. I've seen Los Lonely Boys 3 times in the past week, and they are friggin' incredible live. Other musical highlights from the weekend include Shelby Lynne, followed by Ralph Stanley, Keb Mo, Robert Cray, Chris Robinson, Al Green, Marc B, Jurassic 5, My Morning Jacket, and Delbert McClinton w/ his harmonica stylings.
As for other exciting things that have happened, I went camping with all the girls which was very enjoyable, and I plan on doing again before we leave for college. We were real wilderness girls for a day; we cooked over a fire, slept in (and set up) a tent, and even peed outside, which says a lot for my group of friends.
My parents left for the beach today, so I'm planning on having a little throwdown with an intimate group of friends tonight. Let's hope things don't get too out of control. I think my mom is sick of returning home from vacations to find broken furniture, holes in the ceiling, and stains throughout the house.
I think that's about all that's happened since we last spoke. I know, I lead a boring life, but I'm content with it for now. I'm just having fun watching tv and spending time with friends before I return to the hell of belmont where I have only two friends and we don't get decent cable.
Post a comment to let me know how you're doing (this is mainly referring to stephanie and lauren b/c i haven't spoken to them all summer).

Let me just say that Carmela from the Sopranos has lost some weight. The new season should be a good one, especially since it's featuring Steve Buschemi (who isn't dead, tricia). Too bad the baptists don't believe in HBO. :-(

11:45 pm - It's been too long.
Wow. It's been a long ass time, and I've got a lot to catch you up on. Last week was very busy. Tuesday night I worked for TinPan South at the Sutler. It was fun b/c me and two other Belmont kids ran the entire show. Then on Wednesday night I went to see the Gabe Dixon Band. Unfortunately, there were a shitload of Belmont kids there b/c the opening act is from Belmont and everyone at Belmont seems to think that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Well let me tell you this, he isn't. Don't get me wrong, he's not bad, but his songs and his voice just don't really do it for me. Moving right along to Thursday. Get this, I worked a Kenny Loggins show. It was sooo much fun. All of these 40 year old women were hanging all over him after the show; it was hilarious. The highlight of that show was of course when he played "House at Pooh Corner" and told us the story of how he wrote it. Next thing I knew, it was Friday. Steph and I went to see Wisechild play at Nashville's art museum. But after spending a couple of hours there, we found out that Pollstar had screwed us over once again, and they weren't playing. We weren't too mad though b/c we got free food and we watched a free concert. So we drove like madwomen to the Gabe Dixon concert that was being held in the basement of a church. And get this: it only cost 5 bucks, and that included unlimited specialty coffee and dessert. So of course, I took full advantage of the kind people at the church and drank three very large glasses of coffee. Needless to say, by the end of the night, my entire body was shaking. After that concert, Kristin finally got in town, and we went to get dinner. Then on Saturday we went to the art museum to see paintings by Degas, Picasso, DaVinci, Renoir, and many others. It was unbelievable to see those painting up close and personal, completely surreal. If anyone else goes, let me go ahead and give you a little warning. Don't step over the little line in front of each painting or the museum staff people will get their panties in a wad. I learned this the hard way. Then we went to the Great Escape and I bought 6 much needed CDs. Saturday night, Tricia, Stephanie, Kristin, and I went to the Marc Broussard concert at the Exit/In. The concert was amazing; I'm completely loving his new stuff. And now Shook is a HUGE Marc fan too. Wow, I love rubbing off on people. (Speaking of rubbing off on Shook, she's becoming weirder and quirkier, just like me. I feel so special to have had such a big impact in her life.) Then on Sunday, Stephanie, Tricia, Ben, and I went to see Will Hoge at 3rd and Lindsley. He put on a rockin' concert, as usual. And to add a little more excitement to the night, there was this crazy dancing woman at the concert. She was breakin' it down like whoa. I'm not exaggerating, you could hear the entire audience laughing at her, even the band was distracted by her. So of course I left the concert with stomach pains because I had been laughing so hard. And that was the end of my exciting week of concerts.
So I got home tonight for my Easter Break. Finally, I have found a perk of a Christian school - we get a break that most public schools don't. My cousin is now living w/ us, so now it's like I have two big brothers, both of whom are major fuck-ups, but both of whom I love dearly. (P.S.- I realize that the previous sentence may not have used correct grammar. I was unsure if it was supposed to be "who" or "whom", so I took a guess.) Tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut, then *ghasp* shoppin w/ Sar for the day. This will be the first time in a year and a half that scissors have touched my hair, so I figured it was about time to get a little snip-snip. A haircut and shopping all in one day. I think this may be too much girliness for me in such a short period of time. I'll let you know if it ends up killing me. Actually, if it ends up killing me, then I won't let you know, b/c I'd be dead. So let me rephrase that: I'll let you know if I survive this day of primping.
I think you've now been brought up to date. And I'm sure you'll probably never read my LiveJournal again since this one was unnecessarily long and boring. Anyway, if any homewood kids want to hang out this weekend, give me a call b/c i'll be in town.

I have to be in the studio in 10 minutes, but let's do a quick recap of the past few days. The Matt Nathanson concert was great; he's a super nice guy w/ great energy that makes me peppy, which is hard to do. I befriended the opening act and he told me his life story and hooked me up w/ a free cd. Then on Friday I went to see the new Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet movie w/ Stephanie and I was very impressed to say the least. I'll definitely have to buy it when it comes out on dvd. On Saturday night, I left the dorm room to see Jeff play at the Curb, and w/ some encouragement decided to go to a party for Van's 21st birthday. But an hour later I couldn't take all the socialness, so I went back to my ways of a recluse and returned to the dorm to be by my lonesome while watching The Big Lebowski. Then today I found out that w/ in the next week Kristin Marie, Taylor, Douche, and my Dad are visiting me. Yay! i'm excited. Well now I'm going to go observe Jud do his magic in the Studio. But it shouldn't be that boring b/c i'm dragging lauren w/ me. So i'm sure we'll find amusement by making fun of people and/or their music. If for nothing else, I can always count on Lauren to make fun of people w/ me.

09:18 pm - Drug Free - It's the Way to Be.
Something unfathomable happened today. I went w/ out caffine. I promised Tricia that I would go one whole day w/ out drinking soda to prove that I'm not addicted and that I wouldn't get a caffine headache. So i decided to do it today and was successful. It wasn't hard at all. I just wish that I had something in the room to drink besides water and some Gatorade that's been in the fridge since God knows when. So eat that Tricia! I win!
P.S.~ I'm pretty sure I witnessed someone giving road head for the first time in my life. All of a sudden the girl in the car behind me just leans over into the driver's lap and stays there for a while. I, having the mentality of an 8 year old, found way to much amusement out of it.
